Get on a whale boat!
There are many local whale-watching companies. The boats range from small and nimble, such as Jayleen's Alaska, to large and multiple stories, such as Allen Marine.

Local products to try
A lot of locals love the salmond dip at Jerry's Meats and Seafood. We've recommended it to guests and some have shared they went back to get more three or four times!

Fishing
The amazing thing about Juneau is that you can cast your pole or fly rod nearly anywhere and catch a salmon. To a large extent, locals pick a beach they want to spend the evening at, and fish there. There are countless miles of coastline for saltwater fishing, as well as creeks and rivers that offer a great catch as well.

Guides
Fishing consultants know our waters inside-and-out, and can recommend one-in-a-lifetime experiences to a chartered flight to a remote fishing stream. While the fish can be had in most places, the fish do move around and an experienced guide can put you on the right spot at the right time to make the most of your trip.
Rich Culver is a logistical planner and regional resource consultant we have recommended in the past (we have no affiliation with him, and we aren't compensated for recommending him). We asked if we could share his information, and he said yes: flywater@alaska.net is his email.
