Alaska like a local
Most of the 1.7 million visitors get the same cookie-cutter experience: they see countless jewelry shops, then get shuffled onto a bus to see one or two sights as quickly as possible before being shuffled back to the boat.
The treehouse allows you to experience Alaska like a local. You can go adventuring during the day, work remotely with our fast internet, or just sit back and relax on the deck whale watching with a glass of wine.
We don't have any hidden cleaning fees or a list of chores for you to do at checkout. This is simply our home.

Can I book a long-term stay?
This is our home, we live here when it's not being rented out (and that's why much of the time it is blocked out). Because of this, we don't do long term stays over summer.
However, we are open to winter stays between October through April (particularly for the the 3 bed/1.5 bath Orcaview Cabin) if you are looking for a fully-furnished residence.
Off-season travel has its benefits
Lower airline prices and shorter days make Juneau a nice place to visit in winter - it's typical that you can enjoy a sunrise and sunset without any special planning, and the long, dark evenings give much more opportunity to spot the Aurora borealis.

An enchanting hideaway in a luxurious setting
The Tongass Treehouse is a scenic getaway sitting about a hundred feet up in the lush rainforest canopy with the ocean in your front yard. Start your day with coffee while listening to eagles and whale watching from the spacious deck, then enjoy Juneau's best offerings - like remote glacier hikes, beachside fires and fishing or local shopping - all less than 15 minutes away, and end your day relaxing in luxurious comforts of home to watch the sunset as flying squirrels glide tree-to-tree and sea lions play right offshore. If you keep a close eye, orcas and otters will also make an appearance about once a week.

The Tongass Treehouse consists of the Orcaview Cabin (3 bedroom / 1.5 bath) and Otter Den Studio, which sits below. They share the same incredible view, but are completely separate units with private entrances and private decks. The only shared space is the laundry room.
Being up in the canopy, with trees used as pilings to support the house, most people who come over affectionately reference it as the treehouse, which is where it got the name Tongass Treehouse.
Bald eagles are year-round residents at the Tongass Treehouse. They hang out in the branches around our deck and throughout the year are vocal and catching fish right offshore.
